Skinner Interview: Follow-Up
September 16th, 2009 by Andrew Bernhard under Gospel of Thomas. No Comments.
The Christopher Skinner interview posted on this site a couple of days ago has generated quite a bit of discussion around the blogosphere and on the Gospel of Thomas e-list. Those interested in this topic will definitely want to check out:
- April DeConick’s response to the interview on her Forbidden Gospel blog. DeConick voices some of her objections to Skinner’s thesis and succinctly restates her position on the relationship between the Gospels of John and Thomas in the hope that “it doesn’t get too muddled in the internet and future publications”
- Christopher Skinner’s response to DeConick’s response on his Peje Iesous blog. Skinner responses to some of DeConick’s comments and clarifies some of the statement he made in the initial interview.
The Skinner interview has also been noted by a number of others in the blogosphere: for example, Brandon Wason, Judy Redman, and Loren Rosson. I also followed up the interview with a post about other important pertinent literature. If you’re out there in the blogosphere commenting on the interview, give me a shout out to let me know. If you don’t have a blog but want to participate in this discussion, join the Gospel of Thomas e-list.
