From the Ancient East.
. . . the angel
of the Lord said, "Joseph, arise take Mary your wife and flee to
Egypt . . . every gift and if . . . his friends . . . of the king
. . .
. . . let him
interpret for you. Then the archistrategus said to the virgin, "Behold,
Elizabeth your relative has also conceived and and it is the sixth
month for her who is called barren. In the sixth month, which is
Thoth, his mother conceived John. But it was necessary for the archistrategus
to proclaim beforehand that John was the servant who was to go before
the coming of his Lord.
