Subject: Re: Oral Tradition or Redaction Date: Fri, 09 Oct 1998 23:01:45 -0400 From: Mike Grondin To: mahlonh.smith@worldnet.att.net, crosstalk@info.harpercollins.com Two minor corrections to Mahlon's note: (1) 'Kingdom of the heavens' is used in GThom 3 times: #20, 54, 114. (2) The plural 'heavens' is used once by itself, in #111: "The heavens and the earth will be rolled up in your presence..." Guess this shows the need for the on-line index I've been working on. (g) Mike p.s.: Everyone (rich and poor) would have just laughed at the notion that the poor are blissful (or happy). They would not have laughed at the notion that the poor, precisely because they are burdened and sad in this life, are fortunate in their prospects of the life to come. THAT would surely have been seen as the sort of thing a wise, and/or holy, man would say. ------------------------------------ The Codex II Student Resource Center http://www.geocities.com/athens/9068
